SellerSignal
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
SellerSignal is a Chrome extension for Amazon sellers, built and published by Akash Singh. It analyzes Amazon search results pages you are viewing and overlays product research metrics (Best Sellers Rank, brand, FBA/FBM offer counts, review counts, and listing age) directly on the page.
SellerSignal does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any user data. All processing happens locally in your browser.
Data collection
SellerSignal does not collect or transmit:
- Personal information of any kind
- Browsing history or search queries
- Amazon account information or credentials
- Analytics, telemetry, or usage statistics
The extension has no backend server. It never sends data to the developer or to any third party.
How the extension works
The extension runs only on www.amazon.com. It reads the search results page you have open and, to display per-listing details, fetches individual Amazon product and offer pages directly from Amazon using your existing browser session — the same requests your browser would make if you opened those listings yourself. The results are shown only to you, on your screen.
Local storage
SellerSignal uses Chrome's storage.local API to cache product data (BSR, brand, offer counts) fetched from Amazon for up to 24 hours. This cache exists solely to avoid re-fetching the same pages when you revisit a search. It is stored on your device only, never leaves your browser, and is removed when you uninstall the extension.
Permissions
- storage — used for the 24-hour local cache described above.
- Host access to www.amazon.com — required so the extension can read and annotate Amazon search results pages. It does not run on any other website.
Third parties
SellerSignal contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking code, and loads no remote code.
Changes to this policy
If these practices ever change, this page and the extension's Chrome Web Store listing will be updated before the change takes effect.
